Yeah so a few days ago my kindergarten teacher found me on facebook. I kid you not. KINDERGARTEN.
She keeps in touch with my mum and they update each other about their lives so like family friend like that la, just that we dont meet often, like the last time we physically met was maybe mm, 15 years ago?
So yeah, a few days ago the OWNER of the childcare found my mum on facebook and they were on the phone one night damn kecoh, cos they really lost contact and stuff.
I remember the owner because she would take me over to her house from the childcare on some days and I would play with her son who was 1 year younger than me.
Yeah and last night, my kindergarten teacher uploaded pictures of me on facebook la sia not kidding! Like from kindergarten days!
I was nothing short of:
1) fat
2) greasy
3) fat
4) fat
5) fat
I’m SERIOUS! (Okay la actualy now also fat and greasy so no diff but omg)
And like I was damn CINA TTM! Like the bus driver would ask the teachers “Eh ni anak orang Vietnam eh?” (Is this girl (ie me) some Vietnamese kid?)
And the teachers were all “OMG no, dia anak melayu” and I can totally understand why he would think I’m Vietnamese.

Hello its been a while

So I’ve been really busy at work and I’ll be damn tired everytime I get home because I’m on my feet like, all day, save for the 1h lunch break.
Well I did a shitty column today, all my product disappeared, except some speck and NMR is still not out yet omg I’m so scared I lose the product because its the outcome of a 5 step reaction and its the last step!
If I lose it then I have to make it all over again which is total pengsans.
Speaking of pengsans, its not over yet! I’m having major cramps right now and I desperately need to leave this island to go home and hide under my sheets BUT there’s no bus till 4, and its only 2.50pm now.
OMG KILL ME.
I’m already getting the weird chills and fever shizz omgggg. Gots to leave this place!
In other news, Daughtry did a cover of Gaga’s poker face for a German radio station and I like it!

I am enjoying my internship so much! I have the cooliest project ever, and I think I’m kind of in love with it.
(Okay maybe its because everything’s going quite smoothly (for now), alhamdulillah.)
But yeah, the chemistry is quite exciting and I’m kind of excited about it.
So, some photos from work!

Yeah and they macam tinted the windows blue, for some weird reason so it always looks extra gloomy in the students area.

Okay to be completely honest, I really hate dealing with inert atmospheres and dry solvents. Its just too leceh, but okay lah, no choice cos I was doing a lithiation reaction with n-BuLi.
This is why working at a research institute PWNS NUS research labs! Look at the insane number of RBFs and taps of various sizes and everything is so well organized and CLEAN and NEW (clean and new being the most important).
Okay actually the most important is NOT having to wake up at 830 to book NMR online. Here you just drop it off at any time of the day and someone will do it for you, which rocks, to say the least. So all you really need to do is come back in ten mins for the spectrum.
Like you can take things straight out of the drawer to use. I couldn’t do that while doing my hons project, and just looking for one usable RBF was freaking torture.
Today I worked up my reaction and did column!
Chemistry is such a pretty thing! Because my product is not UV active, we had to use permanganate stain so thats why we have the lovely pink plates!

I really think I love R&D more than I think I do.

Wrong! The blue and green are actually the same green colour! Really confirm chop! I did the colour dropper on photoshop.
Totally right, its so awesome.
Oh yeah and I kind of feel sad for Farrah Fawcett cos she and MJ both passed away today but only MJ’s death made majorrr news. Okay la maybe hers was quite expected.

It seems like only yesterday when we were roaming the streets of LA and singing songs while I play the guitar in the wee hours of the night in our room!
And the midnight feasts and singing Avril’s I’m With You loudly while walking back from the supermarket at night in the hopes of scaring off people who might want to attack us, since we were 3 girls and the boys’ apartment was waaaay on the other side of UCLA.
I miss them as roomies so much! And the life of living in fabulous Los Angeles, with Hollywood just a 20min busride away and movie premiers just a 5 min walk away.
Yeah but its been exactly 1 year! And we met up yesterday for dinner and such!

OMG I’m so exhausted! Seriously speak of things going wrong.
So I got to the Jurong Island pass office right, and when I handed the woman at the counted my IC, she told me that my name wasn’t in the system!
PANIC TTM, so the ICES driver guy called HR and none of the HR people were there! (On MC, personal leave etc) WHAT ARE THE CHANCES, seriously?
In the end, I managed to speak to someone who could help me and because reception was so horrible, I had to scream-spell out my FULL NAME, which was nothing short of retarded, to say the least.
“A-M-Y-L-I-A!”
“B-I-N no, not M, N, NORWAY!-T-E”
“A-B-nono, BOY-DOG-U-L”
“No, its not done yet, got one more word!”
“G-mm GERMANY-HOLLAND-A-NORWAY-INDIA”

Nasib the queue was short, so making the pass took all of 10 minutes after she entered my details into the system.
Got to ICES and the ICES passes weren’t ready because the HR people weren’t there. They only had my computer info done, so I went to the students area (which is so awesome and big now btw) and tried to log in.
Obviously since today is everything goes wrong day, I couldn’t log in to the system and I had to wander around aimlessly to look for an IT support staff to help me because I couldn’t enter their office because I had no freaking pass.
OMG nightmare ttm.
But yeah, everything is solved and I think I’ll just wait around for Zohor and wait around till they have my pass. So yay, jurong island and volatile solvents all over again!

Actually I think Koko Krunch is more fulfilling. I love cereal!
The other time Ahmad and I were at Jasons (the super atas supermarket at paragon) and we were looking at cereal and his favourites were all those things that look like birdfood and my favourites were all at the kids section!
Whatever seh.
We are sooo totally on different frequencies sometimes, its amazing how we ultimately get along.
Tadi I was singing Hannah Montana songs and he wasn’t pleased at all. But best!
Hurrr.
Yup I love my cereal soggy and soft! But my mum has some vendetta against soggy cereal so she will pour in the cereal batch by batch so it won’t turn soggy. Ya and she also likes those birdfood kind.
